Black Anodising is a great option for Stair Nosings, when you are looking for a stylish black profile.
Black Anodising creates a protective oxide layer on the surface of metals like aluminum, which enhances their durability and corrosion resistance, which can significantly reduce the likelihood of rust. It also has an improved colour fastness meaning it will maintain its colour when exposed to UV.

So, what is the process of maintaining Black Anodised Stair Nosings?
To maintain these stair nosings, the installed profile should be swept clean daily to avoid build-up of dust and dirt which may make it more difficult to maintain its appearance.
Immediately after installation and the removal of protective tape, the flooring profile should be wiped with a dry, soft cloth to remove any handling marks and fingerprints, although Black Anodising hardens the surface making it more scratch resistant than a painted finish, it is still imperative to keep it maintained.
These Stair Nosings can be cleaned using soap, warm water, and a damp soft cloth.
Do not use abrasive pads as these may scratch the surface. Sponge the soiled area then dry. Ensuring you protect the surrounding areas during the maintenance.
Prolonged exposure to damp environments, acids or strong alkali solutions may lead to corrosion of the metal, we also recommend allowing the surface to fully dry before you allow pedestrian access.
Along with black anodised stair nosings, we also stock other Black Anodised products such as Stair Tread Inserts, Angles and Tag Trim Formable Angles.
