With Carborundum or PVC Infills:
Aluminium Stair Nosings with Carborundum and PVC Infills are great products with a high grip marker making them safer for heavy footfall areas. PVC Infills can be used for indoor medium to heavy footfall situations, whereas Carborundum is best for wet, heavy footfall areas, so whether they are being used outdoors to keep wet stairs from being too slippery or indoors giving more grip to high traffic areas, they are a stylish and robust. Maintaining Aluminium Stair Nosings is also an easy task!
How simple is maintaining aluminium stair nosings?
First, immediately after installation and the removal of protective tape, the stair nosing profile should be wiped with a dry, soft cloth to remove any handling marks and fingerprints.
Our aluminium stair nosings are produced with a polished, satin, or mill finish. Installed profiles should be swept clean daily to avoid build-up of dust and dirt which may make it more difficult to maintain its appearance and adversely affect performance.

Polished Finish:
For our stair nosings with a polished finish, you should polish with a suitable metal polish and a soft cloth to maintain their appearance.
Make sure that all traces of polish are removed during polishing.
Do not allow polish build up on the tread section as this may affect the slip resistance performance.
Satin Finish:
If you have installed one of our stair nosings with a satin finish, then you need to wipe it clean with a mild detergent, diluted with water, using a damp (not wet) cloth to remove scuffs and small scratches.
You can use a green or red Scotch pad, ensuring you are rubbing along the grain of the existing finish.
Mill Finish:
For a mill finish profile, wipe it clean with a mild detergent, diluted with water, on a damp (not wet) cloth.
Removing light scuff marks should be done with a fine grade wire wool.
Carborundum Infill:
Maintaining the carborundum infill is a slightly different process, and as much as you may be tempted to use a pressure washer or solvent cleaner, we would strongly suggest you do not as this will affect the integrity of the binding between the aluminium oxide grits leadings to an issue with the product.
PVC Infill:
PVC Infills can be cleaned using a mild detergent, diluted with water on a damp (not wet) cloth.
