Flooring Profiles: SSNF Stainless Steel Naplock
Overview
Heathrow’s Terminal 5, established in 2008 and recognised as one of the world’s busiest airports, has continuously witnessed substantial growth in passenger numbers. In 2017, it serviced an impressive 30 million passengers, and this upward spike persisted, reaching an astonishing 61.6 million in 2021.
Amidst the ambitious £40 million refurbishment project undertaken at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5, Fluid Flooring, entrusted by ATS Interiors, was assigned the critical task of providing a comprehensive flooring solution for the VIP check-in area. Recognising the need for a flooring solution that could not only withstand the extreme volume of foot traffic but also align with the design principles set for the refurbishment, Fluid Flooring sought the expertise of CAT.
We were tasked with crafting a bespoke profile that would seamlessly blend durability with aesthetics. The challenge was substantial, as the fabrication template stretched an impressive 40 linear meters. To meet this unique demand, CAT skillfully manufactured the SSNF stainless steel single naplock profile with a brushed finish. The result was nothing short of exceptional, as the 40-meter curved profile not only met the rigorous standards but also added a touch of elegance to the VIP check-in area.
As Heathrow Terminal 5 continues to evolve and cater to the increasing number of travelers passing through its gates, the commitment to excellence in both design and functionality remains at the forefront of its refurbishment efforts.
