Common Types of Floor Finishing Trims
Double Naplock & Threshold Plates
Double Naplock / Twingrip / Double Doorbar / Threshold Plate, usually used to join 2 carpets in a doorway. These profiles are commonly used across commercial and residential flooring installations where clean carpet transitions and edge protection are required.
Examples of CAT products: Feline 2 (brass), Feline A/9/2 (aluminium).
Single Leg & Z Edge Profiles
Single Leg / Z Edge, for finishing carpets to hard floors at the same level. Examples of CAT products: Feline 1 (brass), Feline A/10 (aluminium).
Single Naplock Floor Trims
Cover Plates & Cover Strips
Cover Plate/ Cover Strip, to cover the joint between two hard floors at the same height. Can be supplied drilled or undrilled with Stick Fix® tape pre-applied. Cover plates are commonly specified where smooth transitions between adjoining hard floor surfaces are required.
Square Edge Floor Trims
Square Edge, often used for finishing carpets to hard floors of the same height, creating matwells or edging floor traps. Examples of CAT products: Feline Edge.
T Profile Floor Trims
T Profiles, fitted to cover joints between hard floors such as stone and timber. Examples of CAT products: Feline AT25 (aluminium) and Feline T14 (brass).
Ramp Profile Floor Trims
Clip-In Floor Trim Systems
Clip In Profiles, these are trim systems where a base profile is fitted between flooring materials and a top profile is clipped into the base. Originally used to cover expansion joints in timber floors but now used in many different situations. A concealed fixing system, available as twin tops or ramps. Examples of CAT products are Kliks®, Kliks Slim® and Kliks Spectrum Zip®.
Angle Edge & TagTrim® Profiles
Angle Edge and TagTrim®. Angles are fitted as a neat definition between 2 floor finishes. TagTrim® is the formable version of an angle edge which can be curved on site and is used to make curved outlines in the flooring. We make these profiles with upstands in various heights, from 4.5mm to 25mm. The top edge of the upstand is usually 3mm thick on aluminium and brass angles, 1.8mm on stainless steel. We also offer angles with 6mm, 6.5mm and 7.5mm top edges as shown in our Mainline® and B6 Brass Capped products.
